Inside, the Aveo is a strange mix of cheap appointments and wood trim. The driver's side of the car doesn't have a grab handle, but there is a sunglasses holster where you'd expect one. I wonder how many of these will get ripped off by accident. Luckily the radio looks and sounds good and offers an auxiliary input. I'd love to know why there is wood trim in this thing; it's not like you're going to trick anyone into thinking this is a luxury ride.
If you just want a small car, the Chevrolet Aveo fits the bill. If you're looking to save on gas, there are several Chevrolet vehicles that offer better highway mpg numbers than the Chevrolet Aveo and give you more room.

2009 Chevrolet Aveo Review

The 2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5 gets a facelift and a refreshed interior, but the Chevrolet Aveo sedan rests on the styling updates it received in 2007. Snide remarks regarding the sedan’s styling are common, but reviewers are less critical of the new five-door.
“Chevrolet’s entry-level car is available as a homely-looking sedan or an altogether more attractive five-door wagon,” says Car and Driver. MyRide.com remarks, “the twin-grille look that we like on the Chevrolet Malibu and new Chevrolet Traverse looks forced and weird on this little car. The headlights sweep up into the bodywork uncomfortably, the fender vents behind the rear wheels are laughably corny, the hubcaps have fake plastic bolts, and the rest of the car is just bland and boring.” Automobile Magazine doesn't like the hatchback's styling, "where the only external changes lie with an ungainly front fascia and a pair of new taillight lenses.”
The interior of the 2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5 receives at least some praise. Edmunds says "the interior of the Chevrolet Aveo 5 was redesigned this year, which finally puts it in step with the sedan.” Automobile Magazine remarks “our LT test car sported a two-tone cabin complete with faux-wood accents, but the dash is the same-ol' Daewoo instrument panel first seen (overseas) in 2002.

MyRide.com says that the 2009 Chevrolet Aveo's “interior styling is a slightly different matter. The design is bland, but inoffensive and simple, unlike the busy interiors of some of the Chevrolet Aveo's competitors. Chevrolet has even attempted a bit of style and upscale feel, giving the 2009 Chevrolet Aveo a two-tone tan-and-black theme with fake wood trim.”

Introduction

The Chevrolet Aveo sedan combines a fuel efficient engine, seating for 5, ample cargo space and a host of standard and optional features for a very affordable price.
The front-wheel drive Chevrolet Aveo 4-door sedan is available in two trims. The LS comes standard with power steering, body colored mirrors, 14 inch wheels, front cloth bucket seats, air conditioning and an AM/FM radio. The LT trim adds power mirrors, windows and door locks with remote keyless entry. The LT also comes standard with interior and exterior chrome accents, 15 inch alloy wheels, premium cloth seat-trim, a CD player and cruise control. Both trims come standard with a 103 hp 1.6-liter engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. A 4-speed automatic transmission is optional. Safety features include front driver and passenger airbags with dual-stage deployment and side airbags for the front row occupants. Anti-lock brakes are optional on both trims.
The Chevrolet Aveo is a carryover from 2007.

Chevrolet Aveo Sedan

For a refreshing change, it seems that General Motors might be in front of a new automotive trend rather than lagging behind it by several years. Subcompacts are getting hot thanks to high gas prices, stagnant wage growth, and increasing interest rates. As monthly bills grow at a greater pace than paychecks, Americans are discovering that maybe it’s just plain smart to go small. Honda, Nissan, and Toyota are betting on it with new models in the subcompact segment, but Chevrolet’s been there for almost three years now with the Chevrolet Aveo. Built by GM-Daewoo in South Korea, the 2007 Chevrolet Aveo sedan gets a redesign that includes new exterior sheet metal and a freshened cabin with a more upscale appearance. The Chevrolet Aveo five-door hatchback, however, continues unchanged.

It’s a good thing GM decided to update the Chevrolet Aveo for 2007, because the previous car, despite its commanding 40-percent share of the market (thanks mainly due to fleet sales to rental car agencies), was not particularly appealing. But starting in the summer of 2006, this new ’07 Chevrolet Aveo sedan will be available to entice the financially-strapped and financially-wise alike.

Buyers will be able to choose a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo sedan in LS or LT trim. Standard features include an iPod jack in the dashboard, six-way adjustable front seats, cruise control, and a tilt steering wheel. Options include a power sunroof, a six-disc CD changer, dual heated exterior mirrors, and steering wheel buttons for the cruise control and audio systems.

2006 Chevrolet Aveo Sedan (Daewoo Gentra)

Chevrolet’s distributor in Malaysia Hicomobil does not have an entry level sedan in Malaysia at the moment, unlike Singapore which has the Chevrolet Aveo Sedan. Think of the Aveo with a sedan boot like how the City is a Jazz with a boot.

The Chevrolet Aveo Sedan or Daewoo Gentra was previewed at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. It comes with a 1.5 liter E-TEC II DOHC engine. There are also 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter engines available. Engine offerings are likely to be based on the market it’s in.
The Gentra will replace the Daewoo Kalos, of which the current Chevrolet Aveo in Malaysia is based on.

Sales are to begin on September 21 2005.
You might be wondering why I file an American marque such as Chevrolet under Koreans. Most of the Chevys here in Malaysia are actually rebadged GM Daewoo cars.
Hicomobil should bring this in and put it head to head with the Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent.

Chevrolet Aveo

The Chevrolet Aveo is GM India's entry-level sedan under the Chevrolet brand. It is a handsome car that is well equipped with premium levels of comfort and refined powertrains. Competitively priced to take on the Ford Fiesta and the premium Honda City, the Chevrolet Aveo offers smart and bold styling. It has terrific road presence and the option of two engines.
Powering the Chevrolet Aveo is a choice of 1.4L and 1.6L engines; both Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) with Variable Geometry Induction System (VGIS), which optimises air intake to ensure consistency in power and torque delivery. The 1.6L engine produces 101 bhp and 147 Nm of torque; while the 1.4L outputs 93 bhp and 127 Nm of torque. Both engines are combined to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Chevrolet Aveo sedan certainly scores in this respect as styling is courtesy the best in the business. When plans for the sedan version of the Chevrolet Aveo (or the Daewoo Kalos) were drawn up, the design brief from General Motors was influenced by none other than the legendary Bob Lutz, a manager renowned for his feel for ‘just right’ designs. GM China contributed with inputs. The brief then was passed on to, Giorgietto Giugiaro, a man who is practically responsible for every third exceptionally designed car in the world. The big, deep-set Chevy grille, the heavy chrome garnishes and gaping front chin are Chevrolet requirements, executed to offset the mildly cab-forward stance of the car. Executed with characteristic class and finesse, the strong nose of the car is integrated well with the ‘V’ of the bonnet and the overall design language of the car. And yes, the bowtie on the nose large enough to be spotted from half a kilometre away!.

The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport combines the Corvette's LS3-based powertrain with unique, wide-body styling and a racing-bred suspension for a distinctive model that delivers a great balance of road and race track performance. It is offered in both coupe and convertible body styles, with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The LS3 6.2L engine is rated at 430 horsepower (321 kW) and 424 lb.-ft. of torque (575 Nm) with the standard exhaust system. An optional two-mode exhaust system elevates the power ratings to 436 horses (325 kW) and 428 lb.-ft. (580 Nm).
The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport replaces the Corvette's previous Z51 package and brings a greater degree of handling performance, with wider wheels and tires; revised shock, stabilizer bar and spring specifications; and specific gearing. The equipment enables cornering capability of 1.0 g, as well as a 0.2-second improvement in 0-60 acceleration vs. standard LS3-powered models.
Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport coupe models equipped with the manual transmission are uniquely outfitted for race track competition, too, with a dry-sump oiling system, differential cooler and a rear-mounted battery.

The New Chevrolet Aveo

The new Chevrolet Aveo is being released in three models, including Special Value, LS and LT. Each version features OnStar, which is a subscription service that is widely promoted as a safety mechanism for passengers. Stolen vehicle location assistance and remote door unlock are among the many conveniences provided by OnStar. While all three models feature this component, they are quite different in their own right. The 4-door model, which features a conventional car design, and 5-door model, which gives the appearance of a sleek station wagon, both start at $9,890. In addition to the standard 3-year/36,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, the Chevy Chevrolet Aveo models feature a 5-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
